Someone asked me why I paint.

I paint because I feel free there. They’re no restrictions in ideas, thoughts, themes, forms, lines, colors… just freedom.

Art is freedom!
Yet I seek more, more than forms, more than words, more than colors in each painting, I seek answers. An answer to a thought, an idea, an emotion or question. And even more I seek to learn more, create more, feel more. Art is to me not only an expression but an understanding to everything we seek.

FLOWER AND SONG

This new work of mine is related to my ancestors. The Aztec artists painted what they called it “Flower and Song” (“In Xochitl In Cuicatl” is Nahuatl the language of the Aztecs, and many tribes in Mexico still); and it means that the Painting is the Flower, and the Poem is the Song.

When I started painting I always added a poem of the painting. Now is time to be true to myself and you, and express to you what I love to do: “Flower and Song” “In Xochitl In Cuicatl”.

Many people will say: “you can’t change!” “You’re like this because of your genes” “You always act like this, you can’t change the way you are”. Etc. Etc. Etc. Yes you can, we’re prone to believe that our patterns can never change, that our mental way can never change, that the way we are, can never change. They’re wrong, you can change! You can change the way you think, look, are, even your genes. You can change even your genes. How to help your children or yourself with Painting

Today was published an article I made for Bright Parents explaining the benefits of painting, and a bit of a guide in how to help your children or yourself to embark in the amazing journey that art is. I talk about : understanding how the brain works, why many don't try to paint, how to solve it, what to avoid, what to do and exercises to start developing the skills you need to Paint. How to help your children or yourself with Painting

"You know what art is? Art is a form of expression. There are many means of expression: painting, sculpture, film, literature and music. Today I will talk about the painting.

In painting you express yourself through how you use color, strokes and lines. You can express an emotion, an idea, a theme, something you saw, something you imagined, or all the above. But this form of expression, how can it help children or you? Mainly helps to learn to abstract and translate the way we look, for the brain to understand it and then for it to be tranlated for the hand paint it. This whole process happens in the brain, it has proven to help improve writing, reading and mathematics. When an artist enjoys painting, it creates a connection to the right hemisphere, the one that’s artistic. It also has been found that, like music, when you paint, the entire brain simultaneously becomes active, thus creating more connections. And this translates to everything your child does, making every other task easier; like reading , writing, solving problems, etc.

Painting also helps your self-esteem, self confidence, and to be able to express. Exactly! To express yourself! Did you know that there are many therapies with painting! Because, painting helps to express feelings and thoughts that otherwise are impossible to express. It also helps to channel them in a positive way, rather than explode into something negative. Many children feel anger, sadness, anger, etc. How better to express themselves through art rather than a way that could be harmful to himself and others! In short, art has many benefits. And besides, it gives happiness, passion and discipline. The color soothes the soul and each stroke enrich the wisdom of heart.

But now you must be wondering: "How can I help? How do I start? "

No matter what age your child is or if it's for you, we must educate our hand and eye, as do athletes. The most important thing is how to guide, how to begin. I'll explain below how to begin.

1. The most important thing to start is not to be critical. There is no criticism in the art. All art is unique because it is the expression of the individual. Criticizing art is to criticize the person. Studies show that the left hemisphere (which is the rational, mathematical) constant criticize when we draw. Is the one that tells us that mathematically our painting does not resemble what we see. The right hemisphere is the artistic, spiritual. Both hemispheres conflict constantly and if we add the criticism of others, then we can understand what is already established: the internal and external criticism is the cause for many people to quit or never try to paint. This is the reason why many adults do not dare to begin, for fear of ridicule, to make mistakes because they are not fit. So: do not criticize what you do. Do not say it is ugly, or you don’t like it, etc.. Everything improves with practice.

2. There are no mistakes, without mistakes you do not learn. Since we crawl, learn to walk, eat, we always make mistakes. Thanks to them you learn to improve and discover new techniques, as do many scientists and artists.

3. Don’t make limits. One should never put limits like: "It is very difficult to do, better not." Worse is that you as a parent or teacher say "Do not do it is very difficult." The only way to improve is to try no matter how it looks. Practice is the best teacher.

4. Paint anything you want or catches your eye. The more unusual or different display; That rare images break the connection to the right hemisphere, helping to paint better.

5. Do not be afraid. Many do not want to try something because they fear that it will be wrong, that others will make fun, etc. That’s one of reasons so many don’t dare to paint.. Again I stress that you should not criticize what the other paint . So goodbye to fear, try it, it's OK to not like or is different. ALL famous artists started like this. Van Gogh in his time nobody liked his paintings, and is considered today one of the best, where today some of his paintings sell above 50 million dollars.

6. There is no “I can’t”. That's what the practice and learning is for. If there is anything you do not know, look for it and try it. Just trying hard you’ll achieve and improve with practice.

7. Experiment. They can find their own style. If you want to mix oil with acrylic, add sand, do it in cloth or paper ... let them do whatever they can imagine until they feel comfortable. His style is what sets them apart from others and recognize what makes his paintings. So when you say, Picasso, Dali and Leonardo Di Vinci, in our minds we know who he is, because of his unique strokes and use of colors and images.

8. Enjoy! This is most important. Now you have an idea how to start, what to avoid, what to do.

As I mentioned before, one has to teach his hand and eyesight. Let me give you some tips for this.

◦ To view, play I spy or look for things hidden in pictures. Learn to search for lines that are in the photo or image you want to paint as curves, straight lines, circles and squares. When you realize that the image is simple objects that you know and can handle, the paint is no longer perceived as difficult. Seek the elements you know and then start copying the image.

◦ hand to educate all children and adolescents need to exercise the wrist, grip tripod and develop the strength with which he writes. This can make smooth lines, thick, etc. A good exercise for this is to make gentle circles with the wrist and practice making lines.

◦ In the case of young children, we must understand that they paint symbolically, for example, make a person with five lines and a circle. This is a capacity for abstraction of human beings. But when he wants to paint more realistic, we must guide, as cerebrally they don’t have the visual-motor developed yet to do it. That’s why with exercises you help the brain to develop it. In the visual, we must show that there is another line in the legs, for example, to show the thickness, volume, three-dimensional human figure.

◦ Let him go at his own pace. There is no age that one should know this or that, although others say the opposite. Let the experience to find and develop his style. Although his goal is not to be an artist when I grow up, this will help you know, to trust him and be able to express. Many adults paint like when they were children (humans like sticks and circles) because they never had helped developing their skills. And thus believe they don’t have talent, is not talent they lack, is understanding and practice that they need. Since you know the benefits that painting have for your children and how to help ... now just begin! That's the next step. Let him paint all he wants, what catches his attention, imagination, whatever. Remember don’t criticize. The practice will help connect mature brain and visual-motor connection. Find, find books that explain the techniques, which hand exercises and visual exercises to do. You can also search for classes or a teacher. And do not forget the most important thing ... To enjoy it!

Sometimes we’re having a really rough time in life and we wondered if God is still there. Today was one of those days’. So I asked for a sign of him that he’s still there, that everything will be alright. And below is the answer that I got. And today I fully understood that whatever happens, Love is the most important thing life as well as family. That everything else will resolve itself, like always, even if we don’t think so at the time. Thanks God.

Why I admire Travis Pastrana

Why I admire Travis Pastrana, simply because he loves what he does. He always is having fun and like he said I wake up every morning with a smile on my face just knowing what I’m going to do today. That’s what is called a “Passion”. Too many of us never have felt that way about something, where you eat, sleep and drink your passion; and whatever happens it always brings you a smile in your face. So thank you Travis, for showing us what’s like to live a full life from your passion; And showing us, how to be a humble nice guy with extraordinary success.

To those who don’t know who Travis Pastrana is, he’s a motorsports competitor and stunt performer, who has won championships and X Games gold medals in several events, including supercross, motocross, freestyle motocross, and rally racing. He’s considered a legend, here’s his bio if you want to learn more http://www.travispastrana.com/#/en/TRAVIS/Bio/ He has had many injures, the worst on his spine and this is what he said: “I had to learn to walk again, but in the meantime my Dad got me a great wheelchair with full suspension. I had about three months of fun with that”. This is what I’m talking about even though he was in pain and not being able to walk, he had fun with what he had.

She is a successful author, a livestock-handling equipment designer, one of very few in the world; a Professor of Animal Science at Colorado State University; She also speaks around the world on autism. According to the Dictionary Philosophy is: Middle English philosophie, from Old French, from Latin philosophia, from Greek philosophi , from philosophos, lover of wisdom. I remember when I was in high school where my love for philosophy started. The book stated philosophy is the most natural human doing; asking questions, seeking answers. So I still love philosophy and consider myself a philosopher, because all I do starts and ends to an understanding to better our life. So I seek and search until answers come to me. In this time to many, Philosophy is considered a looser career because you can’t earn money. Say what?! Without Philosophy we wouldn’t have the knowledge we have today or the sciences, the art, or the pursuit of answers. Nowadays all everybody wants is knowledge that can give them more money. But I ask you what about happiness? What about self-fulfillment? What about understanding life, others, ourselves? Everybody has a choice, but it’s sad that money is the priority on everyone’s mind now. I personally don’t care if I don’t make money philosophizing, the thrill of finding answers and understanding life for the better of the world is PRICELESS.

To me Van Gogh saw much more than the naked eye, the proof is the last photo here. He painted from the heart, and when you do that, you can communicate with the Universe and God. In the moment of his life Van Gogh was viewed as crazy yet, his words say how deep his art and passion was.

Just saw the movie, amazing. Not only is a great film that teaches you that against all odds you can win and follow your dream; but, also the importance of letting be. The owner Penny helped Secretariat to be, that horse loved racing, he let him be. It reminded me of my horse who overcame a lot of abuse with me, and the only thing I did was love him and let him be...

So, the lesson here's LOVE AND LET BE, and you will see that wonders and happiness that it brings...

We are so accustomed to always talk about the negative. Many raise their children only focusing on what they did wrong. When we talk to people we always criticize. When we’re doing something new, we always expect the worst. If we just change, and start smiling, and instead of negative we always say and do the positive, your world will change. It all comes back. Everything you do it all comes back. This video shows this and more. You will see how we’re all connected and how you can change a life just by treating everyone nice and smiling. A surprise of the Art Course I created for Casa Escuela

On the 12th of August I finished the course I created of Art for the support group for homeschoolers Casa Escuela. I created this course free, sharing the knowledge I have of art. One of the most important things was to teach them to get rid of the “I can’t” and the fear of drawing. Many don’t know but the reason many don’t draw or make art is because they are afraid of ridicule or criticism. And this is also because our brain our left brain the one that rationalize and orders everything says to you “that drawing your making doesn’t look like what you’re seeing”. So if your own brain criticizes you, and the peer pressure, you end up not even trying. In this course I taught the whole family from the mother to the adolescent to the toddler all at the same time. This was unique experience. And from the moms to the toddlers at the beginning all said “I Can’t” and at the end they all could. That was my biggest reward to see them all painting and doing it when they all thought they couldn’t. That’s why I called the course “I CAN PAINT”. They surprised me with a painting on the 26^thas a gift and thank you for what I taught them. All of them together joined to make it. Here’s the picture… Thank you all for everything… And remember that YOU CAN PAINT!!!

A university professor went to visit a famous Zen master. While the master quietly served tea, the professor talked about Zen. The master poured the visitor's cup to the brim, and then kept pouring. The professor watched the overflowing cup until he could no longer restrain himself. "It's overfull! No more will go in!" the professor blurted. "You are like this cup," the master replied, "How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup."

I've read this message several times throughout my life; but, is not until you're ready that you fully understand it. We live in a society that tells us that we're our past. Psychologist tells us that your past is what determines who you are and your future... so it's hard to empty your cup. But is not until today that I realized that I have the power to stop seeing my past and living through my past. That today is new and I can start filling it with new experiences, new ideas, new everything... So today I emptied my cup and I feel free... how about you, are you ready to empty your cup?

People sometimes don’t understand abstract paintings; artists mostly paint emotions. The line, the color, the way you make your strokes all reflect what you’re feeling and thus portraying that emotion on a canvas. As an example, here's Mark Rothko explaining his art...

"I’m not an abstractionist. I’m not interested in the relationship of color or form or anything else. I’m interested only in expressing basic human emotions: tragedy, ecstasy, doom, and so on."

He began to insist that he was not an abstractionist, and that such a description was as inaccurate as labeling him a great colorist. His interest was:
“ only in expressing basic human emotions — tragedy, ecstasy, doom, and so on. And the fact that a lot of people break down and cry when confronted with my pictures shows that I can communicate those basic human emotions . . . The people who weep before my pictures are having the same religious experience I had when I painted them. And if you, as you say, are moved only by their color relationship, then you miss the point. ”

For Rothko, color is "merely an instrument." The "multiforms" and the signature paintings are, in essence, the same expression of "basic human emotions," as his surrealistic mythological paintings, albeit in a more pure form. What is common among these stylistic innovations is a concern for "tragedy, ecstasy and doom." Rothko’s comment on viewers breaking down in tears before his paintings that may have convinced the De Menils to construct the Rothko Chapel. .

Here goes my story, my dream was to become a painter; when I was a kid about 7-8, I had a private teacher to teach me about painting. She told me I was really bad. So that really affected me. She traumatized me in a way; because I never tried to draw or paint again. It wasn't until I got married. That one day my husband, who painted, told me “would you like to paint?” He stopped painting and I continued. So that’s how I began painting. I learned from many books, tried many mediums, until I created my own techniques. Many people hate mistakes, I love them in my art, that’s how I created my own techniques, and each mistake has lead me to a new way to express the image. It always gives me a wonderful surprise each time I paint. So, if you have a dream, don’t let anyone crush it, be true to yourself and don’t forget to enjoy every minute of it!!!!

I want to thank the Encarnation Virgin for giving me the miracle of giving back health to my child. For 10 months I continuously prayed to her and she gaved me the miracle. This blog is not about religion , poltics, etc. But it's a place for me to share something positive that can help others. All my life I was an atheist, but I started to learn on my own about Jesus, a movie of him changed my life. He was an example of what he was teaching. I learned the value of forgiveness, of humility, love one another. Don't do unto other what you wouldn't like being done to you. But basically I felt him in my life, nobody told me, nor a religious group changed me. I just felt him in my life as well as the Virgin Mary. Today I give testimony that she gave a Miracle. And I thank you Virgin with all my heart...

Quiero agradecer a la Virgen de la Encarnacion por darme el Milagro de darle salud otra vez a mi hijo. Por 10 meses continuamente le ore y ella me dio el Milagro. A few days ago, History Channel revealed the face of Christ from the shroud of Turin. Everybody is talking about is he real or whatever. But nobody is talking about what the 3D image revealed. The pain, abuse and how his body showed all this. Everything that he endured before and during the crucifixion was echo on his body and face, a face of sadness and suffering.
It changed me forever, thank you Jesus , I love you!

The importance of the POINT.... in art

Les pongo esto para mostrarle la importancia del punto. Todo arte empieza con un punto. En este caso el punto se muestra agrandado a circulos que forman las tazas de cafe, y en conjunto crean una pintura. Y como solo cambiando la tonalidad de los cafes, negros y blancos, se crea una pintura.

Esta pintura fue hecha por alumnos Australianos en Sydney. Usaron 3604 tazas de cafe. Y con agregar leche o cafe, encontraban el tono que deseaban.

The importance of the point. All art starts with a point. In this case, the point grows into circles made by coffee cups, together they create a painting. And to see that just changing the shades of black, browns and whites you create a painting... Enjoy!!!!

This painting was made by Australian students in Sydney, they used 3604 coffee cups. And just by adding milk or more coffee, they found the correct shade.

I made this painting, that now she's my friend, and her paintings arrived recently. When she saw the miniature painting, her boyfriend and her thought, she sent me a photograph of them. because in that photogragh they look exactly like that photograph. And no she didn't sent me anything. Since I met her that's how I knew I wanted to paint her. Later on the painting became of the two of them so I had to make another one. But I knew I had to paint her like the first time I saw her, so I made her an extra one, a miniature one...this is it. That's how I paint; I feel you...

So this is what happens when your friend lives hundreds of miles away, and so can only paint from her heart. You'll get a chill!

calor. Todo cuerpo u objeto es susceptible de estudio cuando tiene o
transmite energia, el calor es lo que hace que dicho cuerpo tenga o
transmita energia. El cero absoluto es la ausencia total y absoluta de
calor, todos los cuerpos se vuelven inertes, incapaces de reaccionar, pero
el frio no existe. Hemos creado ese termino para describir como
nos sentimos si no tenemos calor."
-"Y, existe la oscuridad?" continuo el estudiante.

Get it straight in your mind that you,
the miracle that you are,
did not incarnate on this earth
in this present lifetime of yours
to fulfill the dreams, wants or wishes
of your mother and father,
your lover, husband or wife
or your children.
You are here to grow yourself.
And you cannot make the world
a better place for you being in it
if you are walking
in the shadows of another, or others.
Time to wake up to the real picture,
the real truth of who you are.
It is your journey
and only you can propel yourself
in the direction that will take you

when that person leaves
for better or for worse.
You are the boss of your own life.
You answer to yourself.
If you find someone else is the boss
or master of your life
change that person into yourself.
Do it now.

If you are answering to another
for your life choices
and steps on your journey
then think again.

Only you can make you happy...all the time.
And you can only be happy
if you live your life your way.

Put that responsibility on another
and you will find yourself happy

If you allow others

and there are plenty of people

you need people to accompany you
on your journey who will support you,
not be dragged along with you
but to give you encouragement
and loving support.

If there are people in your life
who hold you back
from reaching your goals
then you might have to let them go,
often this will happen naturally
as your energy changes
and this is something
that a lot of people
find very hard to accept.

But sometimes
it is a case of walking away.
Because it is not only ridiculous
but also downright absurd for your creation
to be confined to a bird cage
just as it can be distressing
to see a wild bird
kept in such a small space.

You were born to be free.
Just as the bird is.
You were born to express yourself,
and to be who you truly are.

And you will only serve the world
when you are free to be you
as a living and loving expression
of the God or Goddess or Source
that expresses through you.

So claim your ownership.
You own YOU
and no one else does
or possibly can.

Many years ago three soldiers, hungry and weary of battle, came upon a small village. The villagers, suffering a meager harvest and the many years of war, quickly hid what little they had to eat and met the three at the village square, wringing their hands and bemoaning the lack of anything to eat.

The soldiers spoke quietly among themselves and the first soldier then turned to the village elders. "Your tired fields have left you nothing to share, so we will share what little we have: the secret of how to make soup from stones."

Naturally the villagers were intrigued and soon a fire was put to the town's greatest kettle as the soldiers dropped in three smooth stones. "Now this will be a fine soup", said the second soldier; "but a pinch of salt and some parsley would make it wonderful!" Up jumped a villager, crying "What luck! I've just remembered where some's been left!" And off she ran, returning with an apronful of parsley and a turnip. As the kettle boiled on, the memory of the village improved: soon barley, carrots, beef and cream had found their way into the great pot, and a cask of wine was rolled into the square as all sat down to feast.

They ate and danced and sang well into the night, refreshed by the feast and their new-found friends. In the morning the three soldiers awoke to find the entire village standing before them. At their feet lay a satchel of the village's best breads and cheese. "You have given us the greatest of gifts: the secret of how to make soup from stones", said an elder, "and we shall never forget." The third soldier turned to the crowd, and said: "There is no secret, but this is certain: it is only by sharing that we may make a feast". And off the soldiers wandered, down the road.

I receive this beautiful story, and I wanted to share with all of you.

Quilt of Holes

As I faced my Maker at the last judgment, I knelt before the Lord along with all the other souls.

Before each of us laid our lives like the squares of a quilt in many piles; an angel sat before each of us sewing our quilt squares together into a tapestry that is our life.

But as my angel took each piece of cloth off the pile, I noticed how ragged and empty each of my squares was. They were filled with giant holes. Each square was labeled with a part of my life that had been difficult, the challenges and temptations I was faced with in every day life. I saw hardships that I endured, which were the largest holes of all.

I glanced around me. Nobody else had such squares. Other than a tiny hole here and there, the other tapestries were filled with rich color and the bright hues of worldly fortune. I gazed upon my own life and was
Disheartened.

My angel was sewing the ragged pieces of cloth together, threadbare and empty, like binding air.

Finally the time came when each life was to be displayed, held up to the light, the scrutiny of truth. The others rose; each in turn, holding up their tapestries. So filled their lives had been. My angel looked upon me, and nodded for me to rise.

My gaze dropped to the ground in shame. I hadn't had all the earthly fortunes. I had love in my life, and laughter. But there had also been trials of illness, and wealth, and false accusations that took from me my world, as I knew it. I had to start over many times. I often struggled with
The temptation to quit, only to somehow muster the strength to pick up and begin again. I spent many nights on my knees in prayer, asking for help and guidance in my life.. I had often been held up to ridicule, which I endured painfully, each time offering it up to the Father in hopes that I would not melt within my skin beneath the judgmental gaze of those who unfairly judged me.

And now, I had to face the truth. My life was what it was, and I had to accept it for what it was.

I rose and slowly lifted the combined squares of my life to the light.

An awe-filled gasp filled the air. I gazed around at the others who stared at me with wide eyes.

Then, I looked upon the tapestry before me. Light flooded the many holes, creating an image, the face of Christ. Then our Lord stood before me, with warmth and love in His eyes. He said, 'Every time you gave over
Your life to Me, it became My life, My hardships, and My struggles.

Each point of light in your life is when you stepped aside and let Me shine through, until there was more of Me than there was of you.'

God is always with us, Jesus is always with you!!!!

I always have said that love is the way. But I don't mean about passion. You know in your life when you love someone, you give them your all; you accept them as they are, you tolerate many things, you have patience, you care, you learn , you give, etc.
That's why I say...to let love guide you
We can change the world! Just focus on the positive and let love guide you. Where there's love, there's: understanding, patience, tolerance, learning, forgiveness, humility, caring, sharing, perseverance, hope!!!

As I am seeing what is happening to Mexico with the epidemic, I see the change is coming. Many have heard about the Hopi prophecies, catholic prophecies, mayan's prophecies, etc. But they all mean that a change is coming and the outcome depends on us. So thinking about our kids and grandkids future, I believe we can all make the change into the world we want to. We don't know the future, but we know our present. So today we can start the change!!! How? Just by being nice, helping other, helping yourself, helping your family, helping your neighbor, helping your community, helping your planet. With what you can just be you and let your heart guide you. Everyday our actions affect other people’s and other beings lifes. We all know the power of prayer, and the power of just being nice to another and sharing, how you can change a life. And not just with one another, but with all the people that come into your life everyday.
Just think how a smile can change your day or an insult from a stranger can change your day. You can help with your work, your attitude, your prayers, your sharing, your hugs, your smiles, your jokes, your love, etc. The Earth needs us also, your actions also affect the planet, the animals, the weather, and thus that affects us. We are all one. So, in this moment don’t think about the horrific things that are happening, think that you have the power to make the world a better place, and that you can start today. If you have extra fruit that you can share your neighbor, or help him with his car, or just a prayer, do it!. It doesn't matter... just be you and let your heart guide you. Think positive and believe that this world will be a better one for our children and grandchildren.
May love always be your guide and happiness be in your door. Blessings to all.

New Painting In honor of the message of jesus in Puerto Rico

Explicacion...

La montana en forma de la virgen Maria se refiere al monte sagrado de Puerto Rico. Y lo que explica el simbolo que viene del cielo que es amor y se comunica en el simbolo azteca que significa comunicacion que le llega a la virgen Maria, y ese mensaje se transmite a traves de su Hijo Jesus, que el a su vez se lo transmite a toda la humanidad, en este caso: este abuelo tocando su cuatro Puertorriqueno se lo cuenta a su nieta debajo de un Flamboyan Puertorriqueno. la nina se ve calentando su manos con el amor, que es la ensenanza que nos trajo Jesus. Los colores usados en toda la pintura son los que aparecen en el manto de la Virgen de Guadalupe...La pintura se llama... "A traves de mi Cuatro te transmito su mensaje...Amor"

Explanation

And the symbol that comes from the sky is the love that is comunicated with the aztec symbol that means comunication. That reaches the Virgin Mary, and the message is then transmitted through her son Jesus, who then transmits it to all mankind. In this case a grandfather playing his puertorrican Cuatro telling the stories to her grandaughter under a Flamboyan tree from Puerto Rico. We see the girl warming her hads with the love, that are the teachigs of Jesus. The colors used in this painting are the ones in the mantle of the virgin of Guadalupe.... the painting is called... Through my Cuatro I transmit his message...Love".

Hi all,

I just finished a painting that took me a year to complete. remember I told you all in a former message that I paint when the moment is right. Well it was today. I just couldn't paint it before because something was missing.
Yesterday I knew I had to be with the person this painting is for in holy week. She started talking about her grandfather stories, and how she new a a woman who preached in Puerto rico in a place now is known as the Sacrade Hill In Puerto Rico. Acabo de terminar una pintura que me tomo una ano para completar. Como les habia dicho antes yo pinto cuando el momento es el correcto. Y sucedio hoy. Ayer yo sabia que tenia que ver a la persona para quien es esta pintura en semana santa. y ayer me conto las historias que le contaba su abuelo, del monte sagrado aqui en Puerto Rico y tambien como vio a la Virgen de nina. Eso era lo que faltaba. Y ya hoy esta terminada...Espero les guste.

First of all I want to dedicate my art to my husband, without him I wouldn’t be painting. To all who know my story, know why. But to those who doesn’t know it. Here it goes…

My story… I'm originally from Mexico, but I live now in Puerto Rico. When I was a kid I really wanted to become a painter, my mom got me into private classes. But the teacher told me and my mom that I wasn’t any good. That really affected me, and so I stopped and never tried to paint again. My life took me then to meet my best friend that later became like a son to me: my horse Chimali, he taught me how to love. Horses we’re my passion or so I thought. Because when he died all my passion and all the magic went with him. It was only him that mattered. Later on in my life I even made a foundation to help horse abuse and all beings, had to end it due to my health. But the story remains, so I made a blog about it, I wrote a bit about the history of the horse, the abuse and how to solve it. Later on, without a passion to follow; ended up in psychology, following my parent’s footsteps. But it wasn’t what I was looking for.
When I finished studying I met my husband online. When he came to Mexico from Puerto Rico, one day while he was painting, he asked me, “do you want to paint”… And that’s how I started to paint again, I continued and he stopped and followed his passion.

After several years, being a self-taught artist, I tried different mediums, until I found “me” in oil and pastel, that’s where I feel free and know I can be me. So, I made a page about my art and my stories. Then one day, I met a person online who asked me for a painting, and that’s how personalized paintings were born. And so I found my passion again, making personalized and theme paintings. I love all the process, since I meet the person online or by phone, and our journey begins through simple questions of what they love and like. Until I have the right image in my mind, then I start to paint. I enjoy every moment, because as well as to them as to me the end result is always a surprise. All paintings are made within my style and symbols to tell their stories, and often I know what I want in the painting, but the end result is always a surprise. And then the moment I love, the moment I show them the picture and explanation of their painting, and see their reaction. I love that moment, that’s why I always add their response here in the website. And then after it’s finally dry, the moment they have in their hands, and see the true colors, because the picture doesn’t have the quality as to have it in person. Just wanted to add, if you have a dream, don’t let others take it away, only you have control of your life and what you want to do in life. And if you have a dream, don’t give up, that dreams do come true. And another thing, love is the way. And what I mean is with love; you have patience, perseverance, humility, understanding, caring, and learning in your life. Love is the best guide in life.

A final thank you for my husband for giving me my passion back, my art is dedicated to you. Not only because you got me to start again, but because you’re the only one who has believed in me always. I love and thank you for our own loving family….

Answering some questions about my paintings,

WHAT ARE PERSONALIZED PAINTINGS?

It means that is a painting about you, your essence. I ask the person a bit of questions, what they like, love, etc. And then I try to decipher with just a bit of information what is the essence of the person. Not always the painting is about a person, it may be a gift to others, but is still personalized, because it will be their interpretation that I will paint of the person they love. And sometimes it maybe a theme they want, or just a word, still it will be personalized as I ask questions that brings me the essence of their desire. Sometimes when I speak with someone I'm seeing their painting. Talking with the person the image starts to form until I know how to paint them, I love that moment. The chat, the method, the form is always different; I love that, because it tells me how we all are unique. What I like the most is the challenge to find clues to find the essence and make it a painting.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAPTURE THE ESSENCE OF THE PERSON?

We as people send an energy of what we are at the moment, that's what I call the essence. It is not by the words you say, but all that you transmit when you talk with a person. If I make a painting of you in 10 years will be different, because you will be different. The painting will show who you are as a person in the moment, what you are, what you need, what you desire, what you love. In all who you are at the moment, that's the essence of you that you transmit, that will be portrayed in a painting. That's why they are personalized paintings. These paintings are a rediscovery for the person, they also show something they need or something they have forgotten; but at the end I want them to feel happiness when they see them.

WHY PERSONALIZED PAINTINGS?

I think this is what separates me from other artists. Most artists paint what they feel and inspire them. I paint what other people love, like, etc. And it takes me to places I’ve never been, because is the likes of others. It’s so thrilling to seek the clues that make the essence of the person at the moment. You are what you think, love and like… I always seek what makes them happy and try to portray that in a painting. I love the challenge it all involves. I love all the painting process; from the moment I meet the person, usually is online, the phone and sometimes we meet in person. Then chatting about all what the person loves, the questions varies according of what the person is transmitting at the moment; until an image starts to form. I paint when the image is final in my mind. Then I draw it; then I start the pastel and finally the oil which I do in one stand. Sometimes the images changes through the process, so I flow with it. And my favorite part, is when the person see’s it for the first time, their reaction, and that’s because I never tell them what I’m going to paint, is a surprise for them. That’s why I always add that first reaction in each painting I add in my website. I love doing them; I always put my heart into it. And I thank God for the opportunity to make people smile with my art, and I thank you all for the opportunity for painting you, is always an honor.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PERSONALIZED AND THEME PAINTINGS?

This is the basic difference from a personalized and theme painting that in a personalized I have free rein to paint as I feel them and in the theme ones, they choose the subject; it can be a song, something they love, a lost pet, a cause, their favorite thing, etc. And I love doing them too, I use my style to make the subject interesting for them and make them love more what they already do.

WHAT ARE THEME PAINTINGS?

These paintings are personalized but with a theme, a cause, a poem, or a story for inspiration. An example is a painting I did for the ASPCA in the USA.

EXPLAIN ABOUT THE "UNEXPECTED" "THE EXTRA" THAT CAN BE FOUND ON YOUR PAINTINGS?

It's always a challenge when I make a painting. Sometimes I have to paint something I don't understand at a time, but later I find out why I made them. Usually is something they need or something too make them stronger, or an affirmation of themselves, or o feel happier about their lives, themselves or a message for them. I have 2 examples of this, when I made "The love of The Rising Spirit" I painted her connected o the wind, but I didn't' understand why, so I asked her about meanings of the Cherokee and couldn’t find a link, so I told her: “I guess we’ll have to wait and see what it means, I painted you connected to the wind, maybe later we’ll know what it means”. And she said: “Did you know that my native name is “She’s the Wind”. I guess I did capture her essence after all. Another example, is when I made "Angel" her reaction at first was a bit cold, I thought she didn't' liked it. Later she old me she she was shocked of the painting I made her. She told me, "How did you know I wanted an Angel to protect me..." Usually the questions I ask is what they love, like, etc. she thought I was going to paint her a meadow. I paint when the image is right in my head... I listen to them and let the images flow in my head until my heart tells me which one is the right one, and when I paint the last phase with the oil, I usually flow with the painting till is finished. It has happened to me, that I make mistakes, I flow with them. It always happen for a reason, I always flow with the mistakes because they usually point me to the right path to the correct image for the person .

WHAT DO PEOPLE GAIN WITH YOUR PAINTINGS?

Joy , happiness a reminder of how wonderful they are, a secret message, strength, etc. Each person is different but everyone has gained something in each one of them.

NUDES?

I'm not a realist painter, I will not paint the person per se, but her or his essence, and the nude is the purest form of our-selves. The colors of the bodies symbolizes; the emotions or other qualities of the person. I don't believe in race, color, stereotypes, we are all the same in our inner core, in our purest form, yet we are all different, that is what makes us unique.

WHY AN EXPLANATION?

I paint in symbols, sometimes they are hidden prayers messages, the animals or symbols i portray tell a story of the essence of the person, or their loved ones.

WHAT IS YOUR STYLE?

My own, I'm a self-taught artist. I have developed different styles to obtain different effects or colors. I’m not sure what it is. And I don’t follow and schools of art or techniques. I developed my style after trying several mediums and techniques until I found what I love. I love pastel with oil, because of how it feels and flows. I am not a realist, so I portray the essence of the person, not their physical self. And I use symbols to tell their story.

WHY DO YOU LOVE MISTAKES?

You will find many grammatical mistakes in the reviews and other areas. Many are written verbatim. And also mistakes are part of my art. Thanks to a mistake I created my style and technique with oil and pastel. And since have created more techniques that lead me to create certain visual effects as colors, textures, visual effects, etc. Thanks all to mistakes, I flow with them, they are my guide in my art. That’s one of the reasons I feel free when I paint. I love what I do, it’s my passion.. And thanks to mistakes I always evolve in my art.

EXPLAIN MORE ABOUT THE SYMBOLS YOU USE?

I don't use international symbols; the symbols are specific of the story of the person, that only they will understand. And I also use certain symbols I created as part of my style to tell the story. For example, I always use a butterfly as a symbol for God, because to me God is everywhere and always with us, but we never pay attention. Just like a butterfly that is passing you by, but we never pay attention to it.

WHAT MEDIUM DO YOU USE?

The medium I use is pastel with oil. I use the knife, brushes, my hands, but mostly my heart…

WHY MINIATURE PAINTINGS?

I love painting small, I can paint all sizes. But miniature is always fun to me, and mostly now that they are theme paintings. They choose the theme, the colors, usually the subject is simple. Like now I’m working on one that is a song as a gift for someone. the painting comes with the small easel.

IS IT TRUE THAT THE PAINTING CAN COME WITH A POEM?

Yes it can, I can make you a poem of the painting or the person or even a story it depends upon talking with the person and what he or she wants or the art wants.

WHY I DOESN'T' SHOW THE NAME OF HE PERSON THE PAINTING IS FOR?

Because most people want to remain anonymous, only the ones who want to display their name will it show.

DO I Sell THEM?

Yes, I sell them. They are personalized paintings. The person first tell me she or he wants a painting, so after talking about the theme, then we then talk about the size, that's when we set the price, because it depends on the size and the shipping costs. After talking we work around the person's budget and how it will be paid.

HOW MUCH DO THEY COST?

After establishing contact and determining exactly what are your wishes that are to be made into painting; then the price shall be set. The price will vary according to: the size of the canvas, quantity desired and shipping costs. After talking we work around the person's budget and how it will be paid.

Arrangements can be made for several payments. A PERCENTAGE OF EACH PAINTING WILL BE DONATED TO A GOOD CAUSE OR FOUNDATION.

CAN THE PAINTINGS BE SHIPPED WORLDWIDE?

Yes, all my paintings can be shipped worldwide and all are sent with insurance. I've been very fortunate to have painted for people in USA, England, Puerto Rico, India, Japan...

Hi all,

Hope you all are doing good. Hope you all have a wonderful Holiday. I wanted to tell you that I won't updating my site until after the holidays, many of the paintings I've done are christmas gifts, so I have to wait till they open it...lol
And i wanted to say something, many are thinking all negative about the world situation.
